A QUARTET of intrepid Lauder Limpers headed north to Inverness to compete in the first Monster 120km Duathlon race on Saturday.

In a team challenge consisting of eight very different running and road/mountain bike stages, the four Limpers ran and cycled around the stunning shores of Loch Ness.

Tommy Angus, Dave Henry, Luis Molero and Keith Wylde – competing as the Border Bandits team – finished the difficult course in seven hours and nine minutes, finishing 32nd out of the 215 teams that started the race.

Other competitors included Gavin Hastings, the former Scotland and British Lions rugby captain, and Sally Gunnell, Olympic champion athlete.
