KELSO expat Alistair McDonald, now living in Australia, completed the Melbourne Marathon in two hours and 43 minutes,
McDonald finished 54th out of nearly 7,000 contestants in mild weather conditions.
The marathon is an annual event, sponsored by Medibank and several major charities, and starts on the edge of the city before tracking through St Kilda, Port Melbourne and Albert Park, finishing at Melbourne’s iconic cricket ground.
Born and brought up in Kelso, McDonald emigrated five years ago.
He still keeps in touch with family and friends in the area.
