Haddington beat Kelso by 43 runs


KELSO’S East League debut ended in defeat at the hands of Haddington, despite a good all-round performance from Thomas Roberts.

The youngster took 4 for 46 as the East Lothian side scored 157 all out, with Greville-Williams notching 75.

In reply, Kelso struggled and were all out for 114, with Roberts top scoring with 27.

z KELSO Cricket Club recognised four of its own who have represented Scotland over the years.

A presentation evening held in the Shedden Park clubrooms saw silver quaichs presented to Jack Ker (57 caps), his brother Andrew (22), Ryan Flannigan (20) and ladies’ cap Rebecca Waldie (10).

Club chairman Trevor Bowring spoke of the record of achievement and dedication of the four and gave a special welcome to Jack Ker in congratulating him on his appointment as president of Scottish Cricket.

He also highlighted the junior section of the club and their success in 2011 with the Under-13s winning their league and finishing runners up to Grange in the Scottish Cup.

The Under-15s won the Borders Colts Knock-out Cup, while 16 players represented the region in games over all the age groups.

Four youngsters went on to represent Scotland – Tom Galbraith and Richard Taylor (Under-15s), Rebecca Waldie (Under-17s as well as her senior ladies’ cap) and Eilidh Dickson (under-17s).
