Kelso regain form after tricky start

Kelso maintained their unbeaten run in East Division Two with a systematic victory over Fauldhouse at Eastfield Park.

The hosts won the toss and put the Tweedsiders into bat.

The outlook to start off with was not great, as Kelso lost both openers – Henderson and Kit – for a duck and 3 respectively.

However, the ship was soon steadied by Patterson before he was bowled by McDonald.

And top scorers Grindell (57) and Gibson (43) provided a decent partnership, laying the foundations for their total of 160 for nine wickets.

In reply, Fauldhouse gave it a good old go, but ultimately could not keep up with the mighty Kelso bowling attack.

The home side found themselves all out in the 46th over with only 95 runs on the board.

Mildren was their top scorer on 30 runs, while Kelso bowlers Kit (3 for 10) and Patterson (2 for 13) were top of the tree.

This Saturday sees the Tweedsiders host Broomhall, who currently sit third.
