Kelso beat Largo 2nds by 115 runs


KELSO kept their promotion dreams alive with a comfortable victory over Largo 2nds at Shedden Park.

After a shaky start from the home side, losing two quick wickets, stand-in captain Steven Patterson and Jason Gibson put on a 136-run third-wicket partnership to steady the ship – Gibson making 61 and Patterson playing a captain’s innings, scoring an unbeaten 112.

Neil Dagg and Thomas Roberts also provided valuable runs to bring the Kelso total to 220-5 off their 50 overs.

Pick of the Largo bowlers was H. Gillin with three wickets.

Largo’s reply was restricted through excellent bowling by Gibson and the Davidson brothers Greg and Callum.

S. Frankland played a solid innings, making an impressive 61 runs. However, he was the only team member to make double figures as the Tweedsiders bowled the away team out for 105 with 2.2 overs remaining.
