Jedburgh club coming on strong

OFTEN the dark horse in the Agrii Border League, Jedburgh Curling Club worked their way to a close third spot in section two last season, but their crowning glory was winning the Border Bonspiel in January, a fine effort from a relatively small club, writes Alistair Lindsay.

Within their own club competitions there were some closely-fought games and Jed finished the season with an enjoyable invitation progressive Bonspiel. For the coming season, Mike Frost will be president, John Sinton will be second in charge and secretarial and financial matters will be handled by a conspiracy between Kate Jackson and Lucy Tile, so anything might happen.

Lammermuir had a good start in the Agrii Border League, and a good finish, however the long spell between shall remain unmentioned.

Its ageing membership will need a boost and enquiries from prospective members will be welcomed by Gus Macmillan on 01890 840283 or Andrew Pate on 01361 882575.
