A KELSO shooter has lofty ambitions following his Scotland debut last weekend.
Jed Burn was part of the Scottish clay pigeon shooting team which competed well at a Home Nations event in Wales.
And the 21-year-old groundworker, originally from Jedburgh, is hoping to collect further honours in the future.
He said: “Hopefully in time I can go on to represent Britain and maybe even feature in the Olympics, it would be fantastic.”
Burn was a promising motocross rider until injuries forced him to stop and he began shooting tin cans in a field before taking up shooting seriously in the last year.
Practising at the Braidwood and Morebattle clubs, as well as having his own clay pigeon trap he uses along with his dad Sandy, Jed made the Scotland team after competing at 10 selection shoots all over the country.
He is now hoping to attract some sponsorship to help support his promising shooting career.
Burn added: “It has cost me £7,500 this year and any help would be appreciated.”
