Jack strike seals first victory

Fjordhus Reivers Ladies 1

Waverley Inveresk Trinity 0

JANET Jack fired Fjordhus Reivers Ladies to their first win of the season at Tweedbank.

Within five minutes of the start, the Borders side won a penalty corner which was saved well by the Trinity keeper.

Both teams were working well to break the deadlock but Borders were playing the much better hockey, and a move involving several home players saw Lucy Inglis shoot just wide with a diving effort.

The back four of Fjordhus were not giving any chances to the visitors and on 30 minutes Borders broke the deadlock when, from a penalty corner, Jack gave her legendary side stick shuffle to drive a rasping shot into the bottom right of the goal.
