DUNFERMLINE CARNEGIE II1
FJORDHUS REIVERS III6
Fjordhus Reivers thirds leapt to the top of the East District Division Two table with a stunning victory in Dunfermline.
In what were very wet and windy conditions, Reivers started the game brightly enough even with Hannah Kemp getting a hand injury within the first few minutes.
Being reduced to 10 players didn’t appear to have any adverse affect on the Borders girls however and Claire McCall got the scoring off to a fine start, finding herself unmarked at the back post to just slot the ball into the goal.
The pressure by Reivers was kept up and Leia Mackinnon was rewarded with a goal before Dunfermline began to launch a few attacks of their own with only some stout defending by the visitors keeping them at bay.
Sarah Mathers worked hard in midfield and on one of the Reivers breaks she found herself in the D to put a shot straight past the home keeper.
Dunfermline grabbed a goal back and tried to keep the pressure on but the Reivers defence withheld the attack and when Mackinnon put in a superb cross Polly Bell deflected into the top of the goal. The last goal of the half was scored by Laura Holmes who found some room in the D to put the ball past the keeper.
The second half was a much quieter affair with only one goal coming from Mackinnon.
