FJORDHUS REIVERS IV0

Fjordhus Reivers newest team faced Civil Service Ladies in their first away match of East League Division Three.

The young players started strongly, however, early in the first half an unfortunate deflection in the circle found an opponent’s stick which sent the ball into the goal.

Despite being one down the Reivers team reacted with determination. Playing the ball with pace and utilising their team mates to work the ball past the opposition. Despite repeated pressure in the Civil Service circle Fjordhus Reivers were unable to gain a goal back.

The match remained at 1 – 0 until late in the second half when Civil Service capitalised on a penalty corner. Minutes later another penalty corner was awarded and, although the visiting defence managed to hold off the initial strike at goal, the opposition managed to slot the ball past the keeper.

This was a much improved performance to the Reivers first senior game with the final result not reflecting the play.

The previous week the young team came up against Watsonian’s Ladies IV who scored a goal in each half to win 2-1. Alex Bell scoring the Reivers’ goal late in the game.
