High five for Tweedsiders

Kelso III5

Edinburgh Uni VIII0

Kelso Ladies took control early on in their East Division Three match and went ahead after eight minutes when Linsey Young hit home after a series of short corners.

Lucy Murray then pounced on a loose ball to make it 2-0 before Aimee Martin gave the Tweedsiders a 3-0 lead at half-time after a delightful reverse flick.

The young Kelso team continued to play with increased composure and confidence with Eilidh Smith and Katie Scott prominent. Such was Kelso’s dominance that the visitors only managed one shot on target all afternoon, which was well saved by Gemma Bootman.

Further goals followed from Lucy Murray and Rachel Learmonth to complete a comfortable victory, which keeps them in third position in the league. Next up is an away trip to Edinburgh to face Grange Ladies.
