BORDERS TRI CLUB is committed to developing youth into the sport of triathlon and now has three certified coaches to deliver tailored coaching programmes.
As an initiation into triathlon the club are hosting a youth aquathon at Selkirk pool on Sunday, June 26 for ages eight to 16. This event entails a swim and run, length dependant on age.
To enhance this development, the club is offering eight coaching sessions, containing swimming, biking and running, for youths aged eight to 16 at Selkirk pool, starting on Tuesday, May 10, from 6.30 to 7.30pm. The first session will be mainly for registration, but will include a running session.
To be eligible, participants must be able to swim 50m and run 400m. The cost of these sessions will be £8, which includes membership of the club as well as the pool fee, Swim Borders membership will not count.
There will be a club stand at Selkirk Standard Tri this Sunday if anyone wants to register early or ask questions and take the opportunity to see a triathlon in action.
