Hawick’s motorcycle racer Stuart Easton had another successful weekend with his Mar Train Yamaha team in the British Supersport 600cc Championship over the May Day Bank Holiday at the 2.6 mile Oulton Park circuit in Cheshire.
In front of a large crowd, Stuart qualified on pole position in front of Gearlink Kawaski’s championship leader Alistair Seeley by only a tenth of a second.
In the first 12 lap spirit race it was a see-saw battle with the lead changing hands on numerous times but Easton held firm and won by less than a second.
In the longer 16 lap second race, Easton tried to take the lead on the last bend but Seeley survived by six-tenths of a second.
The result now mean that Easton leads the championship by three points going into the next round at his home circuit at Knockhill in Fife. Judging by the first three rounds the battle with Seeley will go right down to the wire.
