A FULL programme for the Borders area squads starts on Sunday when the Under-17s head to Alnwick to take on North Northumberland ahead of a busy season in the Eastern Region Inter-area Championships.
Manager Chris Grindell has assembled a strong squad after preseason winter training and is hopeful that the two runners-up spots in recent years can be converted to a winners’ podium in 2011.
They will play games against the eastern region’s three other squads and the Regional Development Centre’s under-15s before crowning the season with a Twenty20 ‘finals’ day in August.
The under-13s and under-11s, in the form of Borders Local Authority Schools, play North Northumberland in a double-header on June 2.
