Gala racers are blown away

Conditions were awful as Gala cycling club undertook last week’s 20-mile hilly time trial, with a strong easterly wind prevailing, however the rain held off till the race was completed.

Regardless of the weather, four members still managed to achieve personal best times.

David Johnston, going off number nine, was first man home with a time of 53.23, but was once again relegated to second place as Graeme Lawrie arrived home in a time of 51.41.

In a close third place was Ian Pearson in 53.27.
