Kelso thirds travelled to Edinburgh on Saturday to face third-placed Watsonians in the latest round of East Division 3 fixtures.
In near-perfect playing conditions, albeit a little chilly for the travelling support, the first half was a tight affair with very few clear-cut chances being created. Both defences were solid, with Jessica Howlett and Megan Brennan quick to close down the Watsonians attack.
The breakthrough came five minutes before half-time as the Watsonians central midfielder waltzed through the Kelso defence, in a rare lapse in concentration, to open the scoring.
Kelso coach Mary Weir must have passed on some sound advice at the interval as the Tweedsiders noticeably picked up in the second half. Katie Scott bundled the ball over from close range to notch the equaliser, while Lucy Murray slammed the ball home to take a slightly fortuitous win in the closing minutes of the game.
