In their first outing of the season newly promoted Reivers started the match without a goalkeeper, Claire Townsend stepping up to play as kicking back.

Never-the-less the home side were on the score sheet first after some strong attacking play saw Sara Robson finish by slotting the ball into the corner of the visitors goal.

Liberton levelled through a soft goal with the Reivers lack of a goalkeeper being a significant factor.

The hosts scored again through Ashley Robson only for this to be cancelled out by a further goal from Liberton.

The arrival of a goalkeeper was much welcomed by the Borderers, Isla MacInnes kindly stepped in to defend the Reivers net before her match for the 1sts, and the hosts scored again through Laura McLean to go into half time with a 3-2 lead.

The second half was a different story. A composed home side came out playing open flowing hockey leading to five second half goals from Sarah Mathers, Dizzy White, Sara Robson, McLean and Leia Mackinnon.

There were some very strong performances across the squad with Emma Grieve and Lauren Grant linking well with their respective midfielders.

A promising start to the new season for the Fjordhus Reivers seconds squad.
