BORDERS athletes hit the high roads last weekend.

At Braemar, Lee Goodfellow (TLJT) won the 100yd handicap from Shaun Grant (Innerleithen) and Bruce Scott (TLJT). Scott then won the 220yds from Goodfellow and Graeme Scott. Kelso’s Colin Welsh won the 880yd scratch race while Craig Grieve (TLJT) was second in the 80yd British Championship to Nick Smith.

At Blairgowrie, Goodfellow impressed in the 90m handicap to win his second sprint of the weekend. Welsh completed a triple by winning the 1,600m and 3,200m handicaps and Mhairi Henderson (TLJT) won the 200m youths’ handicap to record her fourth win in recent weeks. Selkirk’s Craig Bruce won the youths’ 90m while training partner John Mclean took the youths’ 800m and 1600m.
