ETTRICK FOREST ARCHERS have been busy in recent weeks in both national and club competitions.

Elaine Pearson’s arrows were certainly flying true, and she is now Scottish target champion following the event at Kilwinning in Ayrshire, with husband Mike taking the medal for most golds.

Elaine also won a medal in the Andrew Mackay Clout competition on the following day.

And on Sunday, dreich and windy conditions met the four hardy archers who took part in the monthly club clout competition.

Doug Anderson was the best of the bunch, handling the tricky crosswinds to take first place, but Frank Brown was the only man to hit the elusive clout, taking a superb second place.
