A YETHOLM schoolgirl netted a bronze medal while representing her country in the sport of lacrosse.
Emma Wauchope, 18, has been playing since she was 13 and this year was selected to play for the Scotland A team in the European Championships in Holland.
With Wauchope in goals, the Scots beat nine other European teams to get into the play-offs for the bronze medal, which they duly secured.
Wauchope, who now attends Loretto School in Edinburgh, played in the World Cup for the Scotland Under-19 squad last year in Hanover, Germany, where her team rose to sixth in the world.
She started school at Yetholm Primary and learned lacrosse at Loretto. She was selected to be a goalie for the under-19 development squad when she was 14 and has progressed from there.
Wauchope is hoping to play in the Lacrosse World Cup in Canada next year.
