A small contingent of Roxburgh Reivers headed to Perthshire on Sunday for the second race in this year’s Scottish Orienteering League.
The competition area at Pitlochry was sandwiched between Loch Faskally and the A9, but despite these obvious handrails, the terrain was very technical and the course planning demanded concentration right to the end.
There were three class wins for Reivers runners – Fiona Forrest on W40, Karen Maxwell on W20 and Robin Sloan on M65. Second places went to Pauline McAdam on W55 and Eileen Maxwell W50.
Local runner Doug Tullie, now based in Sweden, has been selected for the GB Team in the middle-distance race at the World Championships in Italy this summer, following an excellent performance at the Test races held in the Lake District last weekend.
The next local event is at Lanton Woods near Jedburgh on Saturday, April 12. Full details are on the Roxburgh Reivers website.
