Border Ladies have thrown themselves right back in the mix for the Inter Association Bowling League regional title following an almost faultless display in Fife.
After struggling to get enough players for the long journey to Cupar last Friday the 24-strong squad made the trip with no travelling reserve with Selkirk’s Mattie Smith having had to come out of her regional retirement to boost the numbers.
Never-the-less, having suffered a narrow defeat to Berwickshire in the opening round, the Borders rallied for a 10 points to two victory (99-75) having won every rink bar one.
They now await the visit of leaders Midlothian to Selkirk on August 14 sitting in second place in a very tight league going into the final round.
