JED Forest AC sprinter Cameron Grieve scored a fine double victory at Markinch Highland Games in Fife on Sunday.
The teenager, who runs with Brian ‘Chico’ Woods, notched wins in the 200m and 400m youth events, and was second in the 90m youth.
And he secured enough overall points from the three races to claim the Markinch Boys’ Memorial Shield in commemoration of the five Markinch boys killed in the Ibrox disaster 40 years ago.
Kelso’s Chris Black won the 800m open handicap, while Hawick youngster Dylan Ali, 16, took the 200m crown on his debut at senior level in 20.37 seconds.
Fellow Hawick runners Derek Scott (1,600m) and Natalie Robertson (youth 90m) also enjoyed success in their events.
Six more Jed Forest AC members attended Markinch and put in creditable showings.
Iskan Barskanmay reached the final of the 90m and 200m while Scarlett Yates competed in the 800m and 1600m youths’.
Other Jed athletes who made the trip to Fife were Emily Douglas, Scott Richardson, Jasmin Tomlinson and Stuart Somervail.
