The U14 Borders Badminton team travelled to Tyneside Badminton Centre to participate in the Anglo-Scottish Invitational Tournament.
During the two days of competition the Borders played teams from five other regions in Scotland and England.
Having two over age girls and several U12 players meant that it was always going to be an uphill struggle to win any matches. Despite this handicap the young Borders team played brilliantly throughout the weekend and ended the tournament in sixth place. Yorkshire won the tournament with Lothian runners up.
Christine Wylie and Harry Turnbull would like to thank Craig Pollock and Rachel Crowe for their help and also the parents and other family members who turned up to voice their support.
Well done to the players for all their hard work and effort over the two days. Once again their behaviour both on and off court was superb and a joy for the coaches and team managers to work with.
