HAWICK cricketer Stuart Chalmers hopes a national award can lead to a Scotland recall.

The Watsonians captain won the best bowler title for his performances with the Eastern Knights in Cricket Scotland’s Regional Series.

The all-rounder, who this week is featuring for Scotland’s second XI versus Durham second string, picked up 11 wickets for 96 runs from the three matches.

Chalmers, 29, said: “I feel I have much more to give with both bat and ball for the Knights and hope to continue my good regional form, as this is the best way for me to force my way back into the Scotland set-up.”
