THE South of Scotland Select Senior Vaulting Team are in seventh heaven following a very successful trip to Aachen, Germany.
Angus Runciman, Stacey Macpherson, Ann Stark, Lucy Younger, Rebecca Kinghorn, Shannon Purves and Katy Nimmo put on their best show of compulsories to score 6.417, before performing a superb freestyle to finish the competition in seventh place out of a very strong and competitive class of 15 teams.
The team vaulted on Aspen Delikat, owned by Berwickshire RDA Group, and were lunged by Rebecca Morgan.
The vaulters then competed in the Nations Cup, where the highest-placed team, female individual and male individual from each nation, are put together to perform a round of freestyle. The scores are then added together to reach the final total.
The local outfit were very proud to finish in sixth place and the vaulters competed alongside George Cox of the English Vaulting Squad and World and European Champion Joanne Eccles, a real honour for them all.
The hard work will continue throughout the summer with the British and Scottish championships being their next competition target.
