Keeping things ticking over in the off-season

Dave Brown still has the keys to the piggy bank, and, as another string to an already well-strung bow, Peter Bowyer is retained as secretary. Amongst other things, Peter will be heaved into the BIRC presidency fairly soon, as well as being a member of Kelso and Glendale, a remarkable portfolio for anyone to hold.

The club’s highpoint was to get into the Page play-offs in the Agrii Border League. One win and one loss was the extent of their efforts.

A goodish performance in the Tweedmouth Kettle was another highlight, and Ian Dykes took his rink through to the Masters final and just missed out there. By current standards, membership numbers are holding up well.

Over to Lauderdale, and Kenny Allinson is surely the tallest club president in the Border scene, now into his second term, with Anne Brown as vice-president.

Colin Stirling continues as secretary, while Gill Ledingham is guardian of finances.

It was a fairly quiet season for the club, competing in most of the available events, but quite often struggling to gather in daytime players, not a unique situation these days.

Border League-wise, the club had an average sort of campaign, causing the occasional upset at times.

New members are ever welcome, whether local or international.
