Scott Robertson, the number three seed, played a delightful chip shot at the third hole to pull back all square.

Bruce’s putter was on fire again at the sixth when he holed from 30 feet for birdie.

Robertson replied with a birdie of his own at the 10th when his six-iron landed two feet from the hole.

After 18 holes, Bruce was three up. His lead was extended to four up, early in the second round, before a mixture of Robertson’s good play and some slack play by Currie saw the lead cut back to one up.
