James Marjoribanks, chairman of the Friends, expressed thanks to all the players for attending and was delighted to announce, after the meal, that the day had raised nearly £3000.

This meant the Friends had reached their target and the bladder scanner could be ordered.

Grace Brydon, senior nurse from Ward 9, said: “All the nursing staff in the ward are delighted that we can now get this much-needed piece of equipment and we thank all the generous golfers for making this happen.”

Thanks were also conveyed to the Roxburghe for its help in running the event, which is now firmly in the diary for the first Thursday in October, and new teams are welcome.

The winning team was Broon’s Badgers (pictured).
