Gala net hat-trick of wins
Playing the Linton Reivers at Peebles High School, the local team got off to a shaky start, with the Reivers galloping into the lead in the early minutes of the first quarter.
However, Tempest rallied, equalising and going on to score another eight goals to lead 9-1.

Hide AdThe second quarter saw the teams more evenly matched, with Tempest netting six goals to the Reivers’ four as both teams had an equal amount of possession. The second quarter ended 15-5 to Tempest.
Tempest capitalised on several rebounds in the third quarter as the Linton team failed to find the net, and the Gala shooters scored another seven goals to take them into a 22-5 lead.
In the final quarter, the Reivers were denied any further goals by some superb defence from Tempest, who netted another six goals, making the final score 28-5 to Tempest.
Galashiels Academy pupil Caris Brus, Tempest’s GD/WD/GK, gained her third Fair Play award of the season, following some superb interceptions throughout the match. Tempest named the Reivers hard-working centre as Fair Play winner.
Each team has two more matches to play before the Division 2 champions are decided.
In the next fixtures, Tempest play Tweeddale Tigers, while Linton Reivers face Storm and Earlston play the Pumas.
