Young gives Stow edge

Linton Hotspur 1

Stow 4

PAUL Young got his reign as Stow player/manager off to the perfect start by opening the scoring in a convincing win.

In a match played at Penicuik, Young found the net in the 22nd minute, followed by Martin Gibson doubling Stow’s lead on 40 minutes.

The game was all but over when Jordan Steele added a third one minute before the break.

Linton Hotspur pulled a goal back after half-time through Michael McEwan, but Bruce Hunter’s strike in the 69th minute ensured there was no comeback.

However, Hunter was sent off six minutes later for a fracas which also saw Spurs’ Ross Nisbet dismissed.
