Chirnside won the Border Amateur League A Division on Tuesday night, with a convincing home win over rivals Hawick Waverley.
In a tense first half, there was not a lot between the two sides, but a goal after 40 minutes from Jack Windram gave Chirnside the lead at the break.
They doubled their advantage with a second goal from Robbie Armstrong just two minutes into the second half, but Hawick were not prepared to give up without a fight and pulled a goal back after 64 minutes through Scott Craig.
Further goals from Armstrong and Duncan Morrison put Chirnside in the driving seat, however, and on the verge of the championship.
Hawick pulled another goal back after 80 minutes from Callum Hope, but Chirnside already had the champers on ice and by the time the final whistle blew, the players, management and fans were ready to party.
