Waverley were first to do the business in this battle of the basement boys by taking the lead with just two minutes gone.
Jason Inglis found Jordan Yardley with a spot-on pass and the Waverley front runner rifled in a shot.
Playing some good football, Waverley kept their foot on the gas, but lacked the killer touch in front of goal.
Chirnside then hit back to equalise and then stunned Waverley by edging ahead.
Waverley were not to be outdone and, following the upending of Yardley in the box, were awarded a penalty from which Jason Inglis made no mistake.
Waverley were very much in the picture, but it was Chirnside who did the scoring by netting two more.
