Teries learn lessons as Gala focus

GALA Fairydean Rovers’ Image Printers Cup meeting with Hawick Royal Albert in mid-November was a turbulent affair at Albert Park, writes John Slorance.

The hosts had two players red-carded and Albert manager Graeme Chadwick was sent into the stand.

This Saturday, the two sides are set to cross swords again when they meet in this King Cup encounter at Netherdale.

Gala manager Steven Noble told The Southern: “We are going through a bit of a bad spell at the moment, our confidence is low and we are in need of a win.

“Hawick will want to take our scalp and will no doubt be confident as we have lost our last two games. We are completely focused, though.”

Gala hope to have injured trio Kyle Collins, Alan Nichol and Fraser Forrest back.

Hawick coach Davie Aitkin said, “I just hope that we have learned from last time that you can’t win games with only nine men.”

Albert are without the suspended Sean Loughlin and have signed goalkeeper Andy Jack, a former number one of the club. More on this game at www.thesouthernreporter.co.uk
