Souters make their point

Gretna 2008 1

Selkirk 1

SELKIRK picked up their third point of the season when they managed to hold league high-flyers Gretna to a draw at Raydale.

Some excellent goalkeeping from John Dodds played a large part in the final scoreline, despite the Selkirk stopper being beaten by Gretna’s Dan Rayson in the third minute.

Further shots at goal from Sam Atkinson and Adam McMath were denied, and the home side were made to pay for poor defending when Daryl Burdett fired the ball past home keeper Connor Grant.

Dodds again had the final say when saving a shot from Phil Storey to deny the hosts the victory.

Selkirk: J. Dodds, L. Stephen, J. Boyne, J. Inglis, R. Pritchard, R. McManus, B. Holness, D. Burdett, J. Gibson, D. Campbell, W. Mercer.
