Share of the points after titanic Division B match

Tweeddale Rovers 1

Langholm Legion 1

TWEEDDALE could have been one up after two minutes but for a good save from the Langholm keeper from Grant Wilson.

Overall it was a good old-fashioned game of football with goals, controversial decisions, sendings-off and both set of players trying to play good football. All-in-all, a good advert for the Borders B division.

The hosts dominated the opening spell, but as the game progressed Langholm started to come into things more.

Tweeddale were awarded a penalty when Gareth Smith’s header was handled on the line and the guilty Langholm player received his marching orders from the ref before Wilson tucked the penalty away.

Tweeddale were unlucky not to go two up when Nick Rogers’ shot was brilliantly saved by the Langholm keeper.

The game turned when Tweeddale’s Blair Moffat received his second yellow card, after much pressure on the referee by the Langholm players, and the hosts found themselves on the back foot for long periods.

Langholm got their reward of an equaliser after Tweeddale failed to clear a cross.

Gareth Smith almost grabbed the winner but miskicked in front of goal.
