Hawick Legion Rovers 2

Earlston Rhymers 5

GIVING a disappointing show, Rovers ended up being run ragged by the Rhymers.

Earlston ruled the roost during the first half and were three goals up at the break through Craig Bell, Ian Clark and Shaun Henderson.

Early in the second period, Richard Snowdon raised Rovers’ spirits when steering a Gavin Brady corner kick into the net with his head.

Hopes of a comeback were shortlived, however, as Earlston came rallying back to score twice, with Bell notching a second and Euan Whiteford adding the last.

In the closing seconds, Brady made the scoreline a little more respectable, beating the Rhymers keeper with a diving header when connecting with a Snowdon free kick.
