Selkirk’s defence found their form again on Saturday, allowing Garry O’Connor’s ongoing scoring streak to be converted into some precious points.
The Souters enjoyed a lot of the game in the first half, but missed their chances.
But former Scotland striker O’Connor pounced for a quickfire double at the start of the second period, taking his total to 16 for the season – a Herculean feat for a team sitting in ninth place.
There was a period of doubt after Chris Geddes fired in for Stirling to reduce the deficit, but the recently-stuttering Yarrow Park back four – who leaked three goals against Threave the previous week – held out.
Manager Steve Forrest said: “Last week was probably the lowest point in my time at the club and I came away upset.
“But this week, I couldn’t be more delighted to get the three points ... it’s points that are definitely needed.”
