Selkirk’s Lowland League struggle continued on Saturday when defeat at Peffermill saw them sink to 12th place on the table.
Both keepers were kept busy in a lively opening half-hour and on 42 minutes, Edinburgh took the lead when Jamie Pyper fouled David Oswald inside the box. Duncan Black scored the penalty.
Selkirk responded well and just on half-time Conor Scott crossed for Paul Tansey to head home.
Further goals in the second half from Jack Guthrie and Oswald sealed Selkirk’s fate.
