Last-gasp goal gives United a point

Linton Hotspur 2

Hawick United 2

A GOAL in the last minute of the match earned United a draw.

United came closest to scoring in a goalless first half with a Ross Scott header that cannoned off the upright following a Kevin Strathdee corner kick.

In the second period, Linton broke the deadlock. A David Strathdee clearance broke to the feet of Michael McEwan, who swiftly drilled home a shot.

United came bouncing back and after leaving a gap in the Hotspur rearguard with a mazy run, Scott snatched an equaliser.

The home outfit then restored their lead with a penalty, McEwan again doing the honours. Seconds from time United got on a level pegging with a second strike from Scott.
