Peebles footballer Kevin Thomson has earned a recall to the Scotland squad - just two days after playing against Hawick Royal Albert.
The midfielder pulled the strings in central midfield in the Hibs under 20s 9-0 win over Hawick in the East of Scotland First Division match at East Mains on Saturday.
But with injured West Brom pair Graham Dorrans and James Morrison dropping out of the World Cup qualifying squad to face Belgium on Friday and Macedonia on September 10, Thomson could now be in line for his first cap since a 3-0 friendly defeat to Sweden in 2010.
Thomson started his career at Hibs before a big money move to Rangers. Current Scotland boss Gordon Strachan brought the 28-year-old to Middlesbrough before he returned to Hibs after an injury plagued time in the north east of England.
