Hawick 1

Kelso 2

A LATE Kris Tait strike gave Kelso victory in this tight match.

The long grass and muddy underfoot conditions made it difficult for any decent football to be played, but both teams gave it their all.

Hawick started the better and took the lead midway through the first half.

But Kelso got back into the game and levelled when Matt Laidler scored from the penalty spot after Craig Logan was brought down by the Hawick keeper.

The Tweedsiders scored the winner with 10 minutes left when Tait slotted home to seal the points.

Gala Fairydean 7

GALA Fairydean got back to winning ways on a heavy pitch at Yarrow Park on Sunday.

The Dean led 3-1 at the interval thanks to goals from Dylan Howel, Danny Bolton and a Sean Keane penalty.

The home side scored another well-taken goal, but a strong finish saw Gala pull clear with goals from Duncan Kemp and Dale Scott, as well as a double from man of the match Fabian Hointza.
