Selkirk 2

Eyemouth United 2

SELKIRK continued to battle away in the qualifying League Cup against Eyemouth on Saturday.

The visitors took control in the first half with John Dodds being made to work in the home goal.

And with five minutes of the first half remaining, Adam Hastie latched on to a corner kick to head the ball into the net from short range.

The hosts upped their game in the second half, however, and were rewarded 15 minutes after the restart when Jonny Watt slotted a penalty after David Battle had been brought down in the box.

Minutes later, the Souters were in front when Euan Pritchard headed home a Michael Holness corner.

Selkirk looked home and dry, but it was the Fishermen who got the final say when James Wilson flicked the ball past Dods to tie the scores.

Selkirk: J. Dodds, K. Munro, D. Boyne (M. Holness), J. Higginbottom, E. Pritchard, B. Tait, L. Stephen, R. McManus, J. Watt, J. Inglis, D. Battle.
