The Albert Park club said it was acutely aware that current events had left a lot of local people housebound and feeling isolated.

“As a family oriented club, we would like to help out,” it added. “If you are having to self-isolate and need shopping or medication delivered, please message our Facebook or Twitter pages and we will try and get someone to help you.

“There will obviously be health and safety concerns that we will need to adhere to but we will do our best to help. Stay safe.”

Kevin Strathdee, player-coach with the East of Scotland League Division One Conference B club, added: “This offer will remain on the table for as long as anyone needs help through this pandemic. People just need to ask for help and we will be there.”

On the footballing front, Kevin said the club was “in complete lockdown” at present, in accordance with Government guidelines.

“All players, staff and committee members’ health and safety is more important than football at this time,” he added. “Due to SFA restrictions, we have asked each individual player to keep themselves relatively fit during lockdown period and to exercise as much as they can, but also to look after loved ones and family members at this time.

“We, as a club, are doing OK and will continue to do so. We will come out the other end stronger and so will everyone.”

Kevin said all at the club were grateful to everyone in the NHS, carers, supermarket workers and everyone else who was helping the community get by. “Stay safe, stay healthy and stay at home. See you all soon.”

Elsewhere, Lowland League club Gala Fairydean Rovers was also in total lockdown, following the Government instructions, with players advised to keep fit in isolation.
