Gala boss Steven Noble bemoaned a penalty awarded to Stirling University which denied his side a first Lowland League victory at Forthbank.
Fairydean Rovers looked set to create a shock when they raced into a 2-0 lead in the first half through a Jamie Gibson screamer and a Stuart Noble strike.
However, the hosts pulled one back before half-time through Chris Geddes.
And the students won a penalty on the hour when Liam Corr went down in the box, which former Falkirk striker Paul Sludden converted.
Steven Noble said: “The penalty was soft, which was really disappointing from our point of view.
“Stirling had a one or two half chances afterwards, but I am disappointed not to have won the game.
“We have a lot of youngsters in the team and are still finding our feet, but I feel we are progressing with every game.”
