In taking on the Edinburgh men, Gala have a tough assignment ahead of them.

Spartans head the league table and are firm favourites to emerge as league champions.

Commenting on matters Gala manager Steven Noble told TheSouthern: “The win over the Vale gave the players a big lift. So we went into the Threave Rovers game with confidence, played well and got our rewards.

“We are now looking forward to the game against Spartans. Spartans are a very good side and it looks as though they are going to win the league. When we played Spartans earlier in the season, we lost 2-1.

However, we were very unlucky to get beat as Spartans got a last minute winner through a penalty. We matched them in that game and there is no reason why we can’t do the same again on Saturday. It’s our last home match of the season, so hopefully we can end on a win.”

Bob Noble, Callum Jardine and Jason Inglis are all unavailable for Gala.

Hawick Royal Albert are minus the suspended Michael Mckenzie for their away East of Scotland League Cup meeting against Berwick Rangers Reserves.

In the same competition, Kelso United travel to take on Stirling University EOS without banned goalkeeper Elliot Turnbull.

After having lost to Easthouses Lily in the league last weekend, Peebles Rovers lock horns when travelling to play them again on Saturday. King Cup action being the occasion this time around.

Reflecting on the cup tie, Peebles manager John O’Hara said, “Easthouses are very well organised and got a good win over us. We were poor though and I was very disappointed about that as we had played well in our two previous games. We will have to improve to get a result in the cup match.”

Rovers have Danny Munro on the injured list and Ainslie Hunter is cup tied.

Selkirk are also involved in King Cup action and welcome Stirling University to Yarrow Park.
