Fishermen to the four at United

Hawick United 2

Eyemouth Amateurs 4

EYEMOUTH took the lead in this top-of-the-table clash through a fine goal from their striker who danced through the United defence before shooting home.

The Amateurs then went further ahead with a counter that had more than strong hint of offside about it.

United then had a golden opportunity to reduce the leeway when being awarded a penalty after Ross Scott had been brought tumbling down.

There was to be no goal for Hawick, though, as Scott Storrie’s spot kick was saved by the Eyemouth keeper.

United, however, did find the net before the interval through a Scott strike.

In the second half, Eyemouth hit the target twice more, while United had the last say when Kevin Patterson found the net with a cross cum shot.
