Eternal Hope springs to Legion’s rescue

Linton Hotspur 0

Hawick Legion 2

HAWICK Legion marched into the semi-finals of the Wright Cup with a deserved win.

Hotspur had the better of the opening stages, but it was Legion who opened the scoring with a goal out of the blue.

Callum Hope found Jory Robertson with a fine cross and the latter switched the ball from one foot to another before firing home.

Hope then turned from goal provider to scorer when he pierced the Linton defence with a mazy run before tucking away a shot.

Hotspur battled hard to get back into the game in launching several attacks, only to find deputy Legion keeper James Gillespie in top form.
