Harkness was chosen after a fine season for the 26-year-old in Spurs’ title-winning team.
Goalkeeper Glen Murray picked up young player of the season, while Scott Nightingale was top scorer with 33 goals, despite leaving for Gala Fairydean in February. And a special award was made to coach Jimmy Dunbar who was recognised for his services to football in Galashiels.
Fellow coach Fred Blackie said: “It has been a great season and huge thanks go to Niki’s Bar for their continued sponsorship.”
