Peebles managed to keep their heads while all around were losing theirs in this East of Scotland League clash at St Marks Park.
Neither side had looked like scoring until just after the half hour mark when Peebles’ Paul Murray’s attempted flick rebounded to him, and he shot into the far corner of the net.
The Cragie collapse began after the break when Peebles were awarded a penalty which Daniel McAleavey converted, and they added a third when Dale Richardson headed in a McAleavey free kick.
The hosts looked to get back into the match but were dealt a double blow when Rovers were given another penalty, and Craigie skipper Craig Dickson was shown a straight red card. This time McAleavey saw his penalty saved by Shaun Smith in the Craigie goal but the fourth goal came soon after when Chris Taylor scored at the back post, and a fifth a minute later when Jason Darling split the Craigie defence, and Murray lobbed over the advancing Smith.
Craigie were given the chance of a consolation when they were awarded a penalty, but Ewan McIntosh’s spot kick hit the bar, and Peebles keeper Darren Walker saved well from Stuart Donaldson’s follow up.
